Strategic HR Weekly "Sales" Tip #38

HR in Non-Profits vs For-Profits

What's the difference? Not a lot...

Difference:

  • Often tighter budgets
  • Often have to "do more with less"
  • "Statement of Financial Activity" instead of "Profit & Loss (P&L)"
  • "Net Assets" instead of "Net Profit"
  • "Mission" vs "Shareholders"
  • "Organization" verbiage vs "Business" verbiage
Same:
  • "People optimization" is still critical
  • C-suite's the same
  • Employees are the same
  • Departments are almost the same; "fundraising" sometimes replaces "sales"
  • 7 HR Strategies are the same
  • 11 HR Tactics (Employee Lifecycle) are the same
  • 197 HR Tasks, Products, and Services are the same

Cheers!
