Sometimes we think other people "see" the same thing we see, just because we're "looking at" the same thing. The example below is a classic exercise to prove that point.

Two "Views" of HR...
While my picture below doesn't follow this concept exactly, it's an attempt to remind HR folks that what they "see" when looking at HR, might be very different than what the C-suite "sees" looking at HR. If those two visions in your business are very different, and you want to make them the same, the hierarchy of business generally dictates that HR "move up" to what the CEO sees, rather than the CEO "moving down" to what HR sees.
